1977. She served on the treasury board, taught Bible school and Sunday school. She also enjoyed volunteering in the church nursery. Edith was an avid reader, with Christian novels, devotionals, and The Holy Bible being her favorite choices. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word searches, and plastic canvas art. Those left to honor her memory include her children, Bonnie Stowe and husband, Glen, of New Auburn, Wisconsin, Linda Brendel of Baldwin, North Dakota; Mary Brunett and husband, Chris, of Davenport; 12 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Alma Wakefield Axtell; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply. Those who preceded her in death are her parents; husband; a daughter, Wanda Hyde and husband, John; a son-in-law, Gerald Brendel; three brothers, Ralph, Delbert and Frank Wakefield; and a sister, Eva Wakefield King.
