Jason Robert Pierson

Jason Robert Pierson Lorey, age 39, of Nashville, TN, died of a heart attack on Friday, July 30, 2021, at his parents' home in Quincy. Jason was born December 26, 1981 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Dr. Robert Lorey and Julia Pierson. He married Kevin Cohenour on June 2, 2020 in Smyrna, TN. He survives. Jason was an amazing chef and a culinary genius. He had worked for a number of prestigious restaurants throughout the United States and Europe. Most recently, he was employed at The Patio in Quincy. In his spare time, Jason enjoyed organic vegetable farming and sheep ranching. Jason loved his family, fiercely, especially his mother. His friends were either cherished memories or longtime companions, with many stories to tell. Jason has left many friends from all over the country, with hearts happier from knowing him, with minds clearer from lessons he taught them. He has left behind family that will forever miss the light he brought into their darkest times.
