Sunshine Visitor for the Hampton United Methodist Church, delivering church bulletins and handwritten notes to patients in the nursing homes and hospital and to shut-ins. She was a volunteer with Hospice of North Iowa and Relay for Life. In the last two decades of her life, Betty's passion was the annual Franklin County Crop Walk, walking throughout Hampton collecting donations of money for Crop Walk and food for the local food pantries. Betty is survived by her children John (Kim) Miller of Pasadena, Texas, Evelyn (Myron) Hetzler of Muscatine, Iowa and Susan (James) Herman of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren Dao Perez, Steven Miller, Tony Miller, Mia Lani Miller, Christina Miller, Katherine Herman and James Herman; great grandchildren Radiance, Angelito, Nicoli, Preston and Isabelle; great great grandchildren Landon and Alle'ana; brothers Russell (Burdell) Peterson of Sedro Wooley, Washington, Bob Peterson of Hackensack, Minnesota and Don (Laurie) Peterson of Hackensack, Minnesota; sisters Joyce (Don) Coder of Elk River, Minnesota and Nancy Olson of Abilene, Texas; step-brothers Ken (Kathy) Peterson, Calvin (Eunice) Peterson and Lee (Jane) Peterson. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dallas in 1991, daughter Jean Ann in 1953, brothers Jack and Carl Jr. (Sonny) and sister Peggy Norris. Inurnment took place in the Hampton Cemetery. Memorials are preferred and will be directed to the Hampton United Methodist Church or CWS (Hampton Crop Walk 2011).
