Richard L. Murphy

Richard L. Murphy, 75 of Philadelphia PA, died surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 26, 2021, in the Jefferson Torresdale Hospital Philadelphia. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret (nee Faas) Murphy. Richard was a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School Class of 1966. He worked as a train mechanic, employed by SEPTA until his retirement in 2008. Mr. Murphy was a mummer with the Aqua String Band and Greater Kensington String Band. In his free time, he enjoyed a cold drink and watching the NASCAR Race. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Catherine (nee Rennich) Murphy. He was the devoted father of Patricia Murphy and her fiancé Gene Ciccimaro of Philadelphia and Michael Murphy and his wife Ellie of Feasterville. He was the cherished grandfather of Mackenzie Murphy. Relatives and friends are invited to call after 9:00 AM on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at St. Martha Parish Church, 11301 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA. Words of Remembrance will begin at 10:15 AM followed by Richard's Funeral Mass with Rev. Jonathan Dalin as Celebrant. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem. ...[more]
