Elizabeth M. (Libby) Walbridge died at home on Thursday, February 7, 2011 in Blue Bell, PA. She was 94.
Born on Nov 21, 1916 in New York City, she graduated from Chapin School in 1935 and Bennington College in 1939. She spent many summers in Bernardsville, NJ. During World War II she worked for the Quartermaster Corps in Washington, DC.
She married Cope B. Walbridge on July 26, 1947; they were together for 62 years and had three children. She was a talented artist, homemaker and volunteer. She had art shows at Sculpin Gallery in Martha's Vineyard and on Harbor Island in the Bahamas. A member of the Blue Hill Troupe, Ltd since 1940, she was known for creative set and costume designs. She was also President of the Colonial Dames of NY and active in the Goldwater Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her three children: Charlie (Sandy) Walbridge of Morgantown, WV, Eliza Walbridge of Blue Bell, PA and Peggy Walbridge of Ithaca, NY.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 15th at 11:30 AM at St. Thomas's Episcopal Church, Bethlehem Pike and Camp Hill Road, Fort Washington, PA 19034.[more]
