Carla Ann Ackerman
Carla A. Ackerman, 66, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 14, 2021, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. A celebration of her life will be held at 1 P.M., Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date. Carla Ann Ackerman was born on July 18, 1955 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Carl and Delores Grace (Helgens) Ackerman. She grew up in the Scotch Grove area and had spent time in Cedar Rapids, Mount Vernon, and Olin. She graduated from Monticello High School. Carla raised three children and later attended Kirkwood Community College. She then worked a variety of places including WALMART, REM Iowa and for a veterinary clinic grooming dogs. She retired in 2017. Carla enjoyed doing puzzles and loved her dog, Foxy. She had lived in Maquoketa for the past year and a half.
