John M. (Bud) Welsh June 18, 1922 - August 7, 2011 Springboro - John Welsh took his last flight on Sunday, August 7; this time into the heavens from Lorilei's Place Hospice Home of Butler & Warren Counties. Oh how he loved to fly. John was born on June 18, 1922 to John and Rachel Welsh in Dayton OH. He graduated from West Carrollton High School. John was a proud World War II veteran who trained pilots at the Army Air Force facility in Chickasha OK. His love for airplanes and automobiles were apparent throughout his life. John retired from NCR after 33 years where he worked as a tool and die maker. Following retirement he worked several more years doing the same work for General Motors. John loved his family immensely and avidly supported his children's talents and careers. He was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Dayton, OH. John was also a Mason - Order of Eastern Star and Scottish Rite. He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl C. Welsh. He is survived by his son John D. Welsh of Seattle, WA; his daughter Bonnie W. Heath and Amanda Burchett of Belize City, Belize; Sean and Megan Burchett of Winston-Salem, NC and great grandchildren, Summer and Ethan Burchett of Winston-Salem, NC. Funeral services will be held at Anderson Funeral Home on North Main Street in Springboro at 10 am on Wednesday with grandson, Pastor Heath Burchett, officiating. Internment will follow at Springboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm on Tuesday at Anderson Funeral Home.
