Juanita Loss

Juanita Irene Loss was born July 25, 1935, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to John and Mildred (Sheffield) Mitchell. Her family moved to Algona when she was young so Juanita was educated in Algona and graduated from Algona High School. She attended one year of nursing school in Sioux City and was married to Earl Loss on March 6, 1954, in Decorah, Iowa. Earl and Juanita farmed near Algona their entire married life. Juanita enjoyed golfing, bowling, baking, gardening and was a good seamstress. Earl and Juanita enjoyed taking trips and seeing the country on their motorcycle. Juanita has been a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church since 1951, where she enjoyed singing in the church choir. Juanita became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society ~ Algona in April of 2011, and died there on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at the age of 76. four great grandchildren. Also surviving is sister Mildred Parker of Belmond, Iowa and brother Jon Mitchell and wife Susan of Kennebunkport, Maine. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Faye Bartlett and two brothers Richard and Charles.
