Wayne Schroeder, of Antigo, died Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 82 years old. He was born on December 30, 1939, in Antigo, a son of August and Dorothea (Neigenfind) Schroeder. He married Mary Raymark on June 4, 1960, at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. She preceded him in death on July 1, 2020. He was a graduate of Antigo High School with the class of 1959. Wayne worked for Foreway Motors in Antigo as a mechanic for five years. He also worked for Malliette Bus Company as a mechanic and bus driver later becoming a business partner with Carl Grosskurth. After Wayne sold his share of the bus company to Carl he purchased his own dump truck and contracted with Duffek Sand and Gravel for several years. He retired in 2006. He served on the town of Antigo town board for over 30 years and was a volunteer firefighter. He was a member and held the office of speaker with Catholic Order of Foresters and was a member of the Crestwood Wildcats Snowmobile Club helping to make the first snowmobile trails in Langlade County. ouncil. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, gardening and operating his Kubota tractor. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Nowak, Eau Claire, Holly (Barry) Kreft, Sheboygan; a son, Joseph Schroeder, Rhinelander; four grandchildren, Jason and David Nowak, Eau Claire, Austin and Allison Kreft, Sheboygan; a sister, Ellen Trewartha, Madison; two brothers, Gerald Schroeder, Hatley, David (Heidi) Schroeder, Souix Falls, South Dakota. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Elnor (Ken) Biagioni; a brother, Roy (Barbara) Schroeder; a brother in law, Lowell Trewartha. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo with Rev. George Daniel officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
