Clyde Neal Brown Jr passed away on March 14, 2020 in Austin, Texas at the age of 91. Clyde was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Alice Louise Conrad Brown and Clyde Neal Brown. Clyde had one sibling, Carolyn Brown Pollard, who passed away in October 2020. The family lived briefly in Fort Smith, Arkansas before moving to Little Rock, Arkansas and settling there. The family created a business in North Little Rock called Brown Electric. After high school Clyde spent two years in the navy then returned home and made the decision to attend Georgia Tech University to pursue an electrical engineering degree. It was during college where he met Aline Ann Hight who was also from Little Rock and attending Agnes Scott College at the time. They dated and were eventually married in Little Rock on September 1, 1951. After a honeymoon at Rockaway Beach they returned to Atlanta until Clyde graduated. He accepted a job with Elliot Electric in Ridgway, Pennsylvania and they were off on an adventure. eir third child Dana Catherine was born in 1960. After a few years in Cleveland they moved back to the Little Rock area and settled in North Little Rock so that Clyde could work in the family business and one day take the reins when his father retired. However, Clyde soon realized after a short time at Brown Electric that he needed to go a different direction and took a job with Arkansas Power and Light. Living in Arkansas gave them so much joy, being around friends and family. After a handful of years they moved on to Columbus, Ohio then to Clear Lake, Texas and finally to the Austin area where they enjoyed being with kids and grandkids. He was affectionately known as Pawpaw. Clyde was a very intelligent person with a wide variety of interests. He took up sailing during the time spent in Little Rock and it became a life long passion for him and Aline. They would spend many years sailing with family and friends on lakes across the U.S. as well as each of the coasts and the Caribbean. He was a perfectionist about most things. He built their first sailboat, a wooden Windmill, and it was a work of art. He also made wine, built a Grandfather clock, refinished furniture and read extensively. He was preceded in death by his parents and son. He is survived by his wife, Aline Ann Hight Brown, daughter Bethany Brown Lott and husband Thomas Lott, Dripping Springs Texas, daughter Dana Brown Scaief and David Stone, Dallas Texas, grandchildren Christopher Charles Lott and wife Jacie, Caitlin Lott Erskine and husband Brian , Cameron Curtis Lott and fiancé Megan Stewart, Lindsay Scaief Riley and husband Travis, Kevin Martin Scaief and Kasie, Brian Michael Scaief and Nicole, and great grandchildren, Luke, Avery, Evie, Archer and Malaya.
