William Floyd Petersen BETTENDORF, Iowa--William Floyd Petersen, 84, was called to eternal life on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 2011, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2136 Brady Street, Davenport. Burial will take place in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at the church. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be addressed to: St. Paul Lutheran Church, Scott County 4-H, Iowa Master Farmer's Foundation, or the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangements. William was born on the family farm, on November 27, 1926, the son of William Fred and Clara Petersen. He was the sixth of seven children. Growing up on a dairy farm, Marian M. Schroeder became his life mate at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church on May 6, 1950. They celebrated 61 years together.
