Marvin Henry Nolte, 78, of Dumont, Iowa, passed Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton, Iowa. He was born May 4, 1933, in rural Ackley, Iowa to Ehme H. and Henny (Linneman) Nolte. Marvin graduated from the Geneva High School in 1951. He helped his father and several neighbors farm until 1955. Marvin married Marjorie Daleske on March 25, 1955, at the Presbyterian Church in Steam Boat Rock, Iowa. He served his country in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957, most of his time in service was spent at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Marvin returned to the farm, south of Dumont, where he lived for 56 years until he retired. During retirement he and Marjorie purchased a home in Dumont. Marvin was a member of the Dumont Reformed Church where he served as a deacon and was also treasurer of the Sunday school for fifteen years. He was also a member of the Dumont American Legion. Marvin and Marjorie enjoyed bowling and playing cards. He is survived by his wife Marjorie A.
