Develpment to his list of successful accomplishments. In addition to these achievements, he was a director of United Bank of Westgate, served the National Association of Home Builders as a Board of Director member since 1958, then as National Representative, Area Eight Vice President, and a Member of the Executive Committee. He also served as President of the Madison Area Builders Association where he was a member since 1952, and the Wisconsin Builders Association as a past president. He was committed to his profession and to his community having served on several committees to improve the quality of life for others. He was a founding Board Member of Big Brothers of Dane County, featured in the Wisconsin State Journal series "Know Your Madisonian", a key contributor to United Way, named Industry Professional of the Year by the National Commercial Builders Council and many other awards and achievements. His love of flying was his number one passion and we know that he is now soaring with the Eagles and looking down on all his loved ones and watching over them. He will be greatly missed and will be remembered by the imprints he made on all those who had the honor of knowing him. There are many other accolades that we could list of our Gerry, but the most important one would be his love of his family, his children, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was so proud of them and their accomplishments. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Char; and his children from his former wife, Maggie Dohm, including Rick(Pam) Dohm, Steve (Chris) Dohm, Christine (Ray) Mayer, Louann Newby, Sue Keisling, Kelli (Carl) Kreienkamp, Larry (Sharon) Dohm, Tim (Melody) Dohm and John Dohm; his step-children Pamela Allen, Wendy Wolfe, Cindy (John) Walling and Dr Bunita Marcus; four siblings, Laverne (Arlene) Dohm, Nita (Don) Hoepker, Rita Pulgin, and JoAnn (David) Reichling and his twenty-seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters Mary Gertrude Dohm and Armela (Gerry) Ring. A visitation will be held Friday, Sep. 16, 2011 from 4 pm to 7 pm at CRESS FUNERAL HOME , 6021 University Ave., Madison. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 11 am at ST. MARY OF PINE BLUFF CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3673 County Trk P, Cross Plains, WI 53528. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10 am. Memorials in Gerry's name may be gifted to Catholic Charities or a charity of one's choice.
