a year before marrying Mr. Devine. Darlene "Trudy" was an excellent seamstress and quilter - making quilts for all her children and grandchildren. Her homemade bread and other bakes good were well-known and enjoyed by everyone! She is survived by her eight daughters, Rebecca Shock of Waterloo, IA, Mary (John) Nolan of Fort Dodge, IA, Colleen (Darrell) Lazar of Belle Vernon, PA, Maureen (Bruce) Cahill of West Des Moines, IA, Nancy (Bob) Umsted of Greensboro, NC; Kerry (Bill) Pirone of Darien, CT, Rose (Dave) Schneider of Farley, IA, and Patti (Chris) Meyer of Bellingham, WA; three sons, Joe (Marcia) Devine of Clinton, MO, Mike (Kerry) Devine of Cedar Falls, IA, and Terry (Debi) Devine of Bettendorf, IA; 39 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; brother, John Thul of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law, Barb Thul of Phoneix, AZ, and many nieces and nephews. Darlene "Trudy" was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence W. on May 1, 2018; son, Kevin E. Devine on June 30, 1988; son-in-law, Gary Shock on July 20, 2021; her parents; three brothers, Bill, Ed, and Jim Thul; and two sisters, Mary Ellen Thul and Angela Hein.
