Vivian C. Crook MUSCATINE, Iowa--Vivian C. Crook, 94, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the Carrington Place Care Center of Muscatine. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Casket bearers will be Gordon Crook, Alan Crook, John Crook, Jr., Daniel Crook, Rick Hahn and Lance Hahn. Burial will take place in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2011, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Vivian's name. Vivian was born on February 3, 1917, in Muscatine, the daughter of Wade and Aurella Guegel Cutler. She married George W. Crook on October 30, 1933, in Rock Island. He preceded her in death in 1982. Vivian was a homemaker her whole life raising four children and then adopting and raising three children of her deceased daughter, Dolores. ember of the Women of the Moose. She and her husband enjoyed boating for many years on the Mississippi. She also enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together in later years. She will be deeply missed by her two sons, John Crook and wife, Karen, of Muscatine and David Crook and wife, Donna, of Indiana; one daughter, Gloria Hahn of Muscatine; three adopted children, Gordon Crook and Alan Crook and wife, Susan, of Muscatine, and Mitzi Redmond and husband, Skip, of Wapello; six grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren; two brothers, Forrest Brady and wife, Pauline, and Gilbert Brady and wife, Loretta, of Muscatine; one sister, Donna McAuly and husband, Chuck, of Fredonia; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Dolores; three grandchildren; three brothers, Robert, Harlan and Wayne Cutler; and one son-in-law, Herbert.
