Evelyn McCready

Evelyn McCready, 97, of St. Charles died Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Whitewater Health Services in St. Charles. Evelyn was born November 30, 1924, in Fremont to Herman and Mary (Olson) Rislow, and grew up on the family farm at Fremont. Evelyn and Daniel McCready were married April 2, 1941, in Lanesboro. They farmed in Saratoga Township until moving into St. Charles in 1962. In St. Charles Evelyn worked for Hegseth's Superette, and later for Waldee's St. Charles Hardware, retiring at the age of 80. Evelyn was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles. She enjoyed playing bingo and word puzzles well into her later years. Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Paulette McCready and Louise McCready, grandchildren: Scott (Ann) McCready, Marcia (Tim) Schultz, Casey (Nicole) McCready, Courtney (Mike) Erickson, Tonya (Jeremy) Keim, and Ashlee Jones (Josh Bartley), several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel, two sons, Harald and Raymond, a sister, Madelyn Edwards, and two brothers, Harvey and Benard Rislow.
