Margie A. Hill WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa--Margie Ann Hill, 71, of Oakville/Morning Sun, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2011, at the Solid Rock Baptist Church, 14041 Locust Street, Wapello, Iowa 52653. Mrs. Hill was cremated and there will be a fellowship dinner to follow the memorial service in the dining area of the church. A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Hill's memory with the MDA Association for ALS Research in honor of her courageous and gracious battle with ALS. Donations can be made at the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Wapello. Margie was born on February 1, 1940, in Cherokee, the daughter of Doyle and Margie Whitmore Bales. She was the 1958 valedictorian of Wapello High School. She graduated from Keokuk Nursing School and worked as a registered nurse in both Iowa and California. She also worked at the Iowa Ammunition Plant. She married Dwight Stineman in 1958, they divorced later. ompanionship in Sam Walker and they remained together until her passing. Margie was a member of several churches including Solid Rock Baptist, Church of the Nazarene, and St. Paul's Lutheran. She enjoyed vacationing in Arizona and Cananda, crocheting, puzzles, playing cards, fishing, collecting bells, reading novels and her Bible, and most importantly spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her children, Sheldon Stineman of Oakville, Mark Stineman and wife, Betsy, of Oakville, and Darin Stineman of Wichita, Kansas; two step-daughters, Bobbie Nelson and Kimmie Ineichen both of the Quad Cities; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two sisters, Richard and Sheila Smith Goeben of Wapello, and Vicky Majerus of Bakersfield, California; one brother, Von Smith of Wapello; several nieces and nephews; and her companion, Sam Walker of Morning Sun. She was proceeded in death by her grandparents; her parents; her husband; a brother; a grandson; and two step-sons.
