Thomas L Daugherty

Thomas L. Daugherty, 71, formerly of Ulster, PA. currently from Belleview, FL. passed away March 8th, 2022 at Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala, FL. He was the son of the late Harold Lloyd Daugherty and Madelene McKeon Daugherty of Ulster, PA. Tom was born in Waverly, N.Y. on August 2nd, 1950. He grew up in Ulster,PA. Tom enlisted into the United States Army in 1970. He trained at Fort Dix in New Jersey and did his AIT in Fort Rucker, AL. before going to Viet Nam. Tom fought honorably and was awarded many medals including the purple heart and two bronze stars. He went to work for GTE Sylvania (currently GTP Osram) in Towanda, PA. where he worked for 40 years and retired in 2010. Tom loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed many camping trips, vacations, bbq's, birthday parties, card nights, and outings with them. Tom was a jack of all trades and loved teaching people what he knew from waterskiing to carpentry. Tom moved to Belleview, FL in 2016. He loved twisting balloon animals for all of the locals and being Santa for the holidays. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marilyn Louise (Withey) Daugherty currently of Belleview, FL (formerly of Ulster, PA). Children: Thomas L. Daugherty Jr. (Ann Conway) Ulster, PA., Tammy L. Vanderpool (Russell Vanderpool Jr.) Ulster, PA., Tonya Coyne (Floyd R. Coyne Jr.) Ocklawaha, FL. Grandchildren: Ariel Daugherty-Wheeler, Rebecca Vanderpool (Ellingsgard), Mariah Daugherty (May), Russell Vanderpool III, Brooklyn Coyne, Chelsea Coyne, Pearl Coyne (Schwab), Harley Coyne, Kellie Coyne, Courtnee Coyne, Lucia "Lucy" Coyne, Thomas Daugherty III, Katherine Daugherty, Christine Daugherty. Sister: Marlena Daugherty (Whipple), Towanda, PA. Tom had several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Tom was predeceased in death by his parents Harold Lloyd Daugherty and Madelene "Pete" McKeon Daugherty of Ulster, PA. and his brother Lloyd Daugherty, Ulster, PA. Tom had many many friends. Honorable mentions are Frank Coolbaugh (Ulster, PA.), Helen and Jerry Ousterout (Leesburg, FL.), Larry Franklin (Athens, PA.), Bill Birdsall (Mountain Lake, PA.). Tom loved all and was loved by all! He will be greatly missed!
