Lorraine Marie Moore

Lorraine Marie Moore, age 83, of Harrison Township, died on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at American House Grosse Pointe in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. She was born on October 27, 1938, in Highland Park, Michigan to the late Ernest and the late Ida (nee: Spera) DeBernardi. Lorraine was raised in Norway, Michigan. After graduation from Norway High School, she went on to receive her bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University. During her time at Northern, she joined the Delta Sorority. Those sorority sisters would later become her best, life-long friends. Lorraine was a dedicated educator. She began her teaching career at Fraser Public Schools. After her time there, she was a Kindergarten teacher at St. Matthew's for over 20 years. She met her husband, Donald, when a student's mother introduced the two. The couple wed in June of 1965 and were blessed with two children. After retirement, Lorraine enjoyed traveling with Donald. Verheyden, Inc. - 16300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Park. She will lie instate from 8:30 am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 9 am on Wednesday April 20 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6021 Whittier, Detroit.
