Franklin Wayne Teig, son of Mandus and Mary Heers Teig,
was born November 4, 1924 at Winnebago, Minnesota. He
attended rural schools in the Stanhope area and graduated from
Randall High School. He served with the U.S. Army from
November of 1944 to December of 1945 in the 11th Airborne
Division. On July 7, 1946, he married Roberta Whalen at
Stanhope. The couple farmed in the Stanhope area until 1958,
when they moved to Webster City. He drove a petroleum
truck for Farm Service and Martin Standard Oil. He retired in
1990.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Roberta; daughters and
son-in-law, Diane Teig of Jewell; Cindy and Craig Lovelace
of Webster City; grandchildren, Adam Lovelace of Ames; Erin
and Terry Christian and Josh Lovelace, all of Webster City; great
granddaughter, Madison Christian; sisters and brothers-in-law,
Patricia and Fred Maier of Bellevue,WA; Virginia Fenton of
Tucson, AZ; Barb and Jack Adams of Ames; brothers and
sisters-in-law, Forrest and Dorothy Teig of Atlantic; Roger and
Gail Teig of Minden, NV; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard
Teig; brother-in-law, Ron Fenton.
