Hubert Lee Childers

Childers, Mr. Hubert Lee Fruitport, Michigan Mr. Hubert Lee Childers, age 97, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022. He was born February 15, 1925 in Norris City, Illinois to John & Erma (Wiley) Childers. On April 3, 1946 he married the love of his life, the former Ellenore Rowland. Lee was very proud that he served in the US Navy and retired from West Michigan Steel. Lee enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling to Florida, breakfasts at the round table at Burger Crest, Friday happy hour at Pincrest, and spending time with his Yorkies through the years. SURVIVORS Lee is survived by his sons, Chris (Ginger) Childers and Craig (Rae) Childers; son-in-law Tom DeVries; Grandchildren, Jennifer (Ashley), Derek (Adrienne), and Chad; Great Grandchildren Raedyn and Autumn; special friends the Lundberg family and a host of other friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Ellenore, daughter Cynthia DeVries, and grandson Daren. SERVICE A graveside service will be held Friday May 20, 2022, at 11 AM at Pine Hill Cemetery in Fruitport.
