Dorothy Springsteen Rooney

Dorothy Springsteen Rooney, 90, passed away on May 21, 2022, in Phoenix. She was formally married to Joseph A. Rooney. Born in Orlando, Florida, she was the daughter of Leon Leroy Springsteen and Perla Mae Smith. She graduated from St. Luke's Presbyterian Nursing School in NYC. She worked in various capacities from teaching, to hospice, to school nurse. She was a member of the Episcopalian community. She enjoyed sewing, choir, gardening, and spending time with her grandkids. She will be remembered for her warm and caring personality. She is survived by her children Chris Rooney, Shauna McGing, Debra Kaup, Mike Rooney, Eileen Graves, their spouses, and her 12 grandchildren. She was predeceased by Mark Rooney, Joseph Rooney, Quinn Rooney, and Leroy Springsteen. A memorial service will be held in the fall. [more]
