Clifford "Cliff" Leroy Barron

Cliff was born to John Reese Barron and Bertha Mae Aston in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from West High School in 1947 and entered the University of Utah - College of Pharmacy. Cliff's education was interrupted by a call to the service at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Between entering college and his call to service, Cliff met the girl of his dreams, Inez Lucille Lerdahl. During his time at Fort Sill, Cliff took a Christmas leave to go home and marry his sweetheart on 12/27/1950. He continued to serve at Fort Sill, and Inez accompanied him, acquiring a civil service job on base. Cliff was called to active duty in Korea and served as a forward observer, directing fire from an outpost on the front lines. While on active duty, he received word from the Red Cross that his first child, Clifford Craig ("Craig"), was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in March of 1952. When Cliff finished his service duty, he returned home to complete his education. Inez and Cliff's second child (Rochelle "Shelly") was born in December of 1953 and Cliff received his PharmD degree from the University of Utah in 1955. e and Inez relocated the family and he worked for Walgreens for 3 years. Cliff and his father (John Reese Barron, also a pharmacist) opened their own pharmacy, Barron Drug Store, which operated for 17 years. Along with managing the pharmacy shop, Cliff served his community as president of the North Phoenix Rotary Club and was active in the L.D.S. church. Cliff and Inez's son, John Carl, was born in June of 1964. Craig and Shelly were in their early teens and very excited to have a baby brother to dote upon. The family suffered the tragic loss of both Craig and Shelly at separate times in 1972. The Barron family resettled in San Diego, California, because of their love for the ocean and the serenity it provided. Cliff ventured into a variety of businesses that were quite successful. He attained his real estate broker's license and created partnerships in real estate. He loved being an entrepreneur. Cliff and Inez were married for 71 years and continually strove to be the perfect, loving couple throughout their marriage. Friends were important to Cliff and he and Inez were very social. Cliff loved tennis, traveling, playing bridge and hosting parties. Cliff will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was a gentleman in every respect of the word; always generous, patient and kind. He was a true patriot and loved the USA. A good western movie never escaped his attention, and he loved stylish automobiles. Cliff will be missed and remembered by us all. Preceded in death by Clifford Craig Barron (son), Rochelle Barron (daughter), John Barron (brother), Gladys Elkins (sister). Survived by Inez Barron (wife), John Barron (son) and Joanne Barron (daughter-in-law), Kyle, John and Kaitlin Barron (grandchildren)
