Howard L. Goldberg was born In Minneapolis, MN, February 24, 1936 to Maurice and Marion Goldberg. He died in Houston, Texas May 24, 2022. Howard learned Mandarin Chinese at Yale University while serving in the US Air Force. He graduated with a Journalism degree from University of Minnesota. In the 1960's he developed a process for economically printing full color advertisements for publishing in monthly magazines, and became a publisher of local visitor magazines as well as Vice President of the Key Magazine group. After moving to Houston he founded The Desk Factory, an office furniture manufacturing and retail sales company. He taught himself Linux in order to customize business software; Howard became the President of the Linux Users group, and he wrote and published an early guide for the computer operating system. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Marion Goldberg. Survivors are his wife of 60 years Ellen Israel Goldberg, brother Steven Goldberg, children Jay (Karen Lipshy) and Margie Levy (David), as well as grandchildren Rachel and Josh Levy and Harry Goldberg.
