Dean Thomas North

Dean Thomas North, 77, of Madison, WI, passed away peacefully in the arms of his family on May 23, 2022, at the SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. Dean was born May 2, 1945, to Thomas Wilfred and Estelle Marguerite (Jung) North in Edgerton, WI. After graduation from University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, he moved to Honolulu, HI, where he lived and worked for over 25 years at the Hawaiian Telephone Company; eventually Dean moved back to WI, where he made Madison his home. Dean used his whole face when he smiled and was armed with a surplus of jokes that he would gladly share with any willing audience. The knowledge he consumed over the years made him scholarly beyond his days. Wisdom and wit embodied Dean and the world is now a little different without him. Dean was welcomed in Heaven by his father and mother, Thomas and Estelle North. He is survived by his daughter, Mara (Jeffery Pederson) North Koffarnus; grandson Colin M. Koffarnus; granddaughter, Marissa R. Koffarnus; mother of his beloved daughter, Helen M.
