Richard "Rick" Gordon Adams, 80, passed away on June 9th, 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was the husband of Janet Lynne Adams, with whom he shared 47 beautiful years of marriage. Born in Butler, Pennsylvania on August 9th, 1941, he was the son of Leonard Deloss Adams and Edna Mae (Campbell) Adams. He graduated from Arizona State University in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management. After graduating, Rick and his brother, Len Adams, joined the Marine Corps Reserves, spending six months on active duty, and receiving an honorable discharge in 1972. In 1969, the brothers started a carpet business together, which later became Adams Bros Interiors and Cabinets. They grew and operated their company, together as co-owners, until 1999. Rick cared deeply for both his employees and clients and considered those years to be the best of his life. In times of leisure, Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his banter, love of the outdoors, generosity, homemade chili, and sourdough bread bake-offs he affectionately held with Jan. daughter-in-law, Jody Adams, son-in-law, Garrett Duell, grandchildren Grayson Duell, Calvin Duell, Madeleine Duell, soon-to-be-born granddaughter (daughter of Aaron and Jody Adams), brother Len Adams, sister Lenda Barker, and sister-in-law, Denise Adams. He was predeceased by his father, Leonard Deloss Adams, mother, Edna Mae (Campbell) Adams, and brother-in-law, Lars Barker. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 11:00 am at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary & Cemetery at 6500 E Bell Rd. A virtual service will be made available to friends and family that are unable to attend in person. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep Society (http://adbss.org).
