Nickolas "Nick' Francis Nelson

Nickolas Francis "Nick" Nelson was born on August 23, 1956, in Heron Lake, Minnesota to Duane and Marcia (Graff) Nelson. Nick was baptized in Heron Lake on August 30, 1956 and was later confirmed at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Worthington. He attended elementary school in Mountain Lake and Windom and graduated from high school in Worthington. Nick also attended college at the Jackson Vo-Tech College to be an auto body technician. On August 23, 1980, Nick was united in marriage to Nancy Cohen in Windom. This marriage was blessed with three children, Angel, Brandon, and Clint. Throughout his life time, Nick worked at Banner Beef in Hospers, Iowa, PM Windom, TORO in Windom, and Cottonwood County D.A.C. in Windom. He retired from Cottonwood County D.A.C. in 2006 when his health started to deteriate. Nick enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, football and music, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. On October 8, 2008, in the early morning hours, Nick passed away at his residence in Windom at the age of 52.
