being part of the "Salt (Mardella) and Pepper (Barb)". She was known by many students as "marshmallow"; even her great-grandchildren fondly called her that. She loved time with her grandchildren, always enjoying their many activities. A grandchildren favorite was her "corn"; this was made for every get-together. Her great-grandchildren became new "favorites" as she enjoyed attending their many activities. Mardella passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, attaining the age of eighty-five years, six months, and sixteen days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother James Schwarz; one sister Kathryn Crum; sister-in-law Norma Schwarz; and brother-in-law Vincent Crum. Survivors left to cherish their memories of Mardella include her loving husband of 63 years, Robert Andresen of Schleswig; daughter Lori and her husband Terry Brockman of Denison; son Kevin Andresen and his wife Jill of Schleswig; grandchildren: Brad Brockman and his wife Kailey, Tara and her husband Kevin Christopher, Ashley Gallagher, Kyle Andresen, Justin Andresen and his fiancé Caitlyn Jepsen; her pride and joy, great-grandchildren: Brailey and Ronni Brockman; Karson, Kason, and Kree Gallagher; and Baby Christopher 2023; brother Richard Schwarz and his wife Joan of Spencer; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the Huebner Funeral Home in Schleswig. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig with burial to follow in the Morgan Cemetery in Schleswig.
