JULIETA MARIA CALDERON MUSCATINE, Iowa - Julieta Maria Calderón, 52, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at St. Mathias Church. Reverend Khoa Le will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Julie was born on November 20, 1969, in California, the daughter of Michael and Guadalupe Núñez Miller. She married Rudy Calderón on August 7, 1992. She worked at Franklin School, was a founding mother of Sigma Lambda Gamma, and a member of St. Mathias Church. Helping young children was her passion, and though she was shy and quiet, she had a soul of a giant and was loving and caring. she learned from her mother. She was a devoted swim mother from the YMCA program to Highschool swim team. She is survived by her husband, Rudy of Muscatine; four children, Arianna, Rudy, Cecilia, and Vanessa; three grandchildren, Ayla, Anastasia, and Kiyla; her parents, Michael and Guadalupe Miller; and two sisters, Michelle Miller and Cynthia Kieffer and husband, Gabe. Julieta is preceded in death by her grandparents.
