rdan, Paytin, Landon, and Avery Dorsey, Kaley, Jaden, and Jaxon White, Hadley Schall, Olivia Dreier and Maylee Dreier, 2 more great grandchildren on the way, brothers Mervin (Diane) Kearney of Fort Dodge, Merle Kearney of Fort Dodge, Robert (Linda) Kearney of Marion, sisters-in-law Cheryl Kearney of Coalville, and Emma Belle Schall of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded by her parents James and Rose (Brennan) Kearney, husband Gerald M. Schall in 2001, grandson Scott Schall, son-in-law Paul Giddings, sisters Mary Schneider and Rita Mersch, brother Eugene Kearney, and her infant brother Jimmy. Joanne Catherine Kearney was born on October 15, 1934, in Fort Dodge. She attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1952. She worked as a clerk at the Boston Store. On February 12, 1955, she was united in marriage to Gerald Schall and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. They later moved to a farm in the Humboldt County area. Joanne worked as a clerk at the Farm and Home store and later as a dietician at the Humboldt Hospital until her retirement in 1999. Joanne was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She looked forward to coffee with the "We Weavers" and her other friends. Joanne was a fantastic cook, enjoyed going to Dairy Queen and volunteering to run bingo at the Humboldt Care Centers. She loved her family without any bounds and cherished their family reunions where she had time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Memorials may be left to the Marian Home in Fort Dodge or to the discretion of the family.
