ried Michael Carry in 2003. Frances was the true definition of a "people person" becoming instant friends with almost everyone that crossed her path. Frances enjoyed being an advisor for the ASU chapter of Chi-Omega for over 30 years, but she was always a U of A Wildcat at heart. She loved and cherished being a mom to her two children Erin and Michael. In her later years, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching them play together, and helping with their homework. Frances was happiest at home, surrounded by her many grandchildren, 3 dogs, 3 cats, and 1 bearded dragon. She happily welcomed old and new friends day or night. Her work as a school guidance counselor was her greatest joy, and she loved going to school every day to support the Cheyenne Traditional School students and staff. She always said, "if you love what you do, then you'll never work a day in your life". Frances received numerous awards during her career and lifetime, most notably "Scottsdale Charros Educator of the Year" in 2014-2015 from the Scottsdale Unified School District. Frances was so grateful for the loving care she received from the Mayo Oncology Group and inpatient nurses and staff. Frances is survived by her daughter Erin Robinson, her son Michael Lax, and their families including her daughter-in-law's, Camber Lax & Kelly Kelleher and her son-in-law Karl Robinson. Her seven grandchildren, Stiles Robinson, Michael Lax Jr., Colton Lax, Kylie Kelleher, Ruth Kelleher, Sarah Kelleher and Emily Kelleher. Frances will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and colleagues. A Celebration of Life is planned for Friday, September 30, at 3:30 in the afternoon at Paradise Valley United Methodist Church, 4455 E Lincoln Dr, Paradise Valley, AZ 85253. If so desired, donations can be made in honor of Frances to Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation, Frances Lax Memorial Fund.
