Jeanette Ann Mathies

Jeanette Ann (Hansen) Mathies was born July 22, 1932 to Louis H. Hansen and Milda Ruth (Martens) Hansen on a family farm in Carroll County. She was baptized August 28, 1932, at Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia, and confirmed December 25, 1954, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Jeanette went to school in Manilla until the 7th grade then moved to Denison where she graduated from the Denison Public School. On May 26, 1951, Jeanette married Charlie Mathies in Denison, where they made their home and were blessed with 2 children: Barbara and Daniel. In her early 1950's, Jeanette worked at Cronks' Café, Anderson Cleaners, and Safeway. She liked to fish, bowl, play bingo, go dancing, take walks, go to Las Vegas and work in her yard. Mostly, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren: Kelly and Laura, and 3 great-grandchildren: Kassidy, Kaitlyn, and Hunter.
