John Francis Lawson

John Francis Lawson died on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Mayo Methodist Hospital in Rochester. John was born on June 26, 1936 in Schenectady, New York to John and Mary (Kuzmack) Lawson. He grew up in West New York, New Jersey, attended the University of Missouri School of Mines and University of Missouri Columbia. He finished his degree at Newark College of Engineering. John married Geraldina DeLucia on July 15, 1961 in Bronx, NY. They lived in NY, MI, TN, MO and WV. They moved to Rochester in 2002. Geraldina passed away in 2004. John married Christeen Wetsch on January 22, 2009 in Rochester. John worked for Dow Chemical, Mobay and Miles Laboratories and retired from Bayer Corporation. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing baseball and was an avid Mizzou and Yankees fan. He loved his grandchildren dearly and was fiercely proud of their accomplishments. He is survived by his spouse, Christeen; children John (Maureen) Lawson III of Rochester, Jean (Tim) Heier of Raymore, MO, and Warren (Libby) Lawson of Columbia, MO; his 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 11am. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mayo Cancer Research or the Lourdes Foundation.
