Barbara Rose Queller, 91 passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2022, surrounded by her children. Barbara was born on December 22, 1930, in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late Rose (nee: Tryon) and Max Baker. On November 22, 1951, Barbara married Robert L. Queller and they celebrated 59 years of marriage. They settled down in the Detroit area where they became parents to 4 children, ultimately raising their family in Harper Woods. Barbara attended Indiana State University and was a member of Chi Omega Chapter. Unbeknownst to many, Barbara was a gifted pianist. Later, as a near "empty nester" Barbara developed a passion for running and competed in numerous marathons throughout the years. While her greatest accomplishment was marathon running it was fueled by her amazing friendships as part of the Belle Isle Runners for over 40 years. Barbara turned her passion for running and training into a volunteer role at South Macomb Hospital in the Physical Therapy department. on with a bright smile and twinkling eyes. Barbara had a sense of humor that lit up a room. She was a generous and giving friend. Barbara was always there to guide, support, advise and listen. She was an adventurer at heart and rode her bike across Michigan and hiked up and down the Grand Canyon at the age of 75. Barbara was the dear wife of the late Robert Queller. Loving mother of Cindy Ellis (Art), Elaine Hargarten (Mike), Gayle Adams (Doug), and David Queller (Penny). Beloved grandmother to Jason, Paul, Lauren, Collin, Justus, Christian, Jacob, and Avery. Cherished great grandmother of 6. Preceding her in death were her parents, Rose and Max Baker, and her cherished sister, Delores.
