Daniel Wayne Olson

Daniel Wayne Olson, 68, passed away on November 4, 2022 at his home in Phoenix. Born in Eureka, CA, he was the son of Donald and Elsie Olson. He graduated from Central High School in Phoenix in 1972. He owned and operated Westside Radiator Service for over 20 years, retiring in 2009. He loved car racing of all types, both as a fan and as a participant. Over the years, he raced go-karts, off-road cars, a midget and a sprint car. Like most drivers and pit crew members, he enjoyed the "bench racing" that followed the actual event. Dan was an animal lover. He had many cats over the years. We lost count of the number of feral cats he captured and had neutered or spayed to do his part in controlling that population. He is survived by his former wife Susan and his cat Lucky. Although an only child with no children, he counted as his family his sisters-in law Leslie Goetz and Wendy Jones-Fergen with their extended families, including his brothers-in-law Paul Goetz and Jeff Fergen, his nephews Michael and Dustin Fergen, their wives Becky and Kimberly and 5 little great nieces.
