Bette Jeanne Russell

Russell, Mrs. Bette Jeanne Norton Shores, Michigan Mrs. Bette Jeanne Russell, age 90, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Saturday, November 26, 2022. She was born in Muskegon, MI on December 18, 1931 to Samuel & Margaret (Cole) Weisner, and raised by her mother and step-father Harold Johnson. On August 11, 1951 she married John Russell, the love of her life. Mrs. Russell had been employed as a secretary at the University of Michigan and later managed the office for her husband John's dental practice. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and a past member of the Muskegon Country Club and the Vikings Lodge. Bette was a proud member of the Women's Division of the Muskegon Chamber of Commerce where she enjoyed volunteering for Dancing with the Stars and Trinkets and Treasures. She also volunteered at the Hackley Hospital Cherry Guild. Bette was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing mah jongg and bridge with her friends.
