d Safety instructor and was a certified NRA rifle and pistol instructor. He was active in the Boy Scouts with his oldest two sons. He was a devout Christian and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for his entire life. Rex enjoyed spending his time outdoors, hunting and fishing, gardening, wood working, trains and spending time with his family and grandchildren. His faith was very important to him. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Michael (Meg) Sanger of Las Vegas, NV, Joel (Susan) Sanger of DeWitt, IA; daughter-in-law, Ann (Giddings) Sanger of Camanche, IA; grandchildren, Kristen, Justin (Kristen), Megan, Steve "Andy" (Courtney), Jordan (Chayse), Jolene, and Jerri; great grandchildren, Nautica, Bode, Posy, Rhys, Remington, and Keena; and multiple nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his three brothers, Howard, Raymond, and Ray Jr., and his son Steven. The family would like to thank the DeWitt ambulance crew and the Genesis East Medical Center emergency department, intensive care unit and medical pulmonary unit staff for the exceptional care.
