Hardy was an avid outdoorsman who loved bird hunting and fly fishing. One of the greatest joys of his life was spending time in God's creation with his girls, son in laws and grandkids. Hardy always sought opportunities to introduce others into the activities he loved. He was an active member of the community and member of King's Cross Church. Hardy had an unwavering faith in God and his faith only grew stronger in his later years of life. He wanted everyone to know the blessed assurance he had that he would be with Jesus when he closed his eyes the last time. Hardy was predeceased by his father, mother and sister Desma. He is survived by his wife Elaine, his daughters Elizabeth Stahlman (Chad) of New Braunfels, Emily Kimbro (Ryan) of Dripping Springs, his son Lucas Purvis, his grandchildren, Colter Kimbro, Jade Stahlman, Cambell Kimbro, Collier Kimbro, Marigold Stahlman, Lottie Stahlman, his brother Burl Purvis (Mary) of Buda, his sisters Linda Purvis-Ellis (Jimmy) of Dallas and Dian Peavey (Rich) of Austin.
