Edward James Lundin, 87, long-time Ishpeming resident, passed away peacefully due to kidney failure on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility with his loving wife at his side and under the care of UP Home Health and Hospice. Ed was born on June 13, 1935 in Big Bay, MI where his father was an officer for Civilian Conservation Corps at Camp Big Bay. He was a son of Clarence M. and Helen (Jeffery) Lundin. Ed served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea Carrier from 1952-1956 and recently enjoyed going on the UP Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Ed retired after 26 years from the Marquette County Road Commission as a heavy equipment operator. He had a passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and owned several new ones. Ed and his wife traveled many miles covering a lot of the United States and Canada. He was self-taught handyman, he always said, and could fix about anything except a broken heart. Ed is survived by his wife of 63 years, Katherine A. "Kay" Lundin of Ishpeming; sister, Helen M. at-nephews; his Lundin cousins; and two brothers-in-law, John L. Mullins and Michael R. Mullins. Besides his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Byron W. Grenfell. Per Ed's wishes, cremation has taken place and no public services will be held.
