Robert Lewis "Bob" Hodges, 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Bob was born in Bradford, PA to Louis B. and Estelle (Moore) Hodges on July 22, 1933. He graduated from Saint Bernard's High School in 1951. One month later he joined the US Air Force. Bob served in many locations as an airborne radio operator. He also trained to be a B52 gunner which brought him to KI Sawyer. After 15 years in the Air Force he was discharged and stayed in the Upper Peninsula. The fishing and hunting seemed pretty attractive. He then went to work at the Empire Mine for 28 ½ years. As a welder, he worked on large equipment which he enjoyed. During that time at the mine, he joined the Army National Guard and served 17 years as an equipment mechanic and motor sergeant. Bob retired from the guard in 1989 and from the mine in 1995. In retirement, the hunting camp became the place to be with friends. Good food, cards, sauna & the occasional four-wheeler ride. en, Debbie (Steve) of Texas, Rick (Shelly) of Kentucky, Lorrie of North Carolina, Kimberly (Kelly) of Oregon and James of Missouri; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rita of New York. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 12 noon to 2 pm at the Little Lake Chapel. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2 pm with Rev. Ron Westman officiating. Entombment will take place in Northland Chapel Gardens Mausoleum. Military Honors will be provided by the Little Lake American Legion.
