He also loved spending time in his back yard where he took pride in his yard and enjoyed the sun and view of his pool. After he retired, Jim found pleasure in other hobbies like writing funny movie reviews and painting. In 2015, Jim was inducted into the Mt. Sac Hall of Fame for winning the California State Junior College Baseball Championships; this was one of his proudest moments. Later in life, Jim reunited with his friend Leslie Flammini and planned to spend the rest of their retirement years going to Palm Desert. Unfortunately, his lung cancer diagnosis kept them in Walnut for the past three years until his passing. Jim was preceded in death by his parents John and Marie, and his three brothers, Timothy, Johnny, and Tommy.
