Her famous dishes were pickles, deviled eggs, potato salad, homemade bread, sweet rolls, angel food cake, cookies, and so many others. She enjoyed entertaining others, hosting friends in her home, housework, gardening, helping at the church, bowling, playing cards, fishing with her grandsons, and talking about her family. She was very proud of her family. Sylvia cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On February 18, 2023, Sylvia passed away at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll at the age of eighty-seven years. Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Edna (Brus) Lohrmann and a brother Robert Lohrmann. She is survived by her husband Richard Saunders of Manilla; son Robert (Lisa) Saunders of Carroll; brother Ronnie (Gloria) Lohrmann of Manilla; grandsons: Brett (Jessica) Saunders of Manilla, Scott (Morgan) Saunders of Manilla, Tom (Nikki) Saunders of Manilla; six great grandkids: Ileene, Clara, Millie, William, Jozlyn and Oliver; as well as, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Manilla, Iowa with Reverend Robert Riggert, Officiating.
