Europe, North America, and Asia. Her greatest achievement was to have visited the 50 state capitols in the United States and all presidential libraries. Her favorite American cities and towns were Boston, Lake Arrowhead, Kona, and Julian. Family was important to Vercie. She enjoyed organizing family reunions and made sure "milestones" in the lives of family members were honored and celebrated. Vercie is preceded in death by her loving parents Aristile and Edna Carmon; brothers Bishop Dominic Carmon, SVD, and Clifford Carmon; sisters Theresia Davis and Virginia Fontenot. Survivors include her devoted husband Amos Johnson, Jr., brothers Clifton (Ann) and Aubrey, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved, respected, and admired. A private memorial Mass, according to Vercie's wishes, will be celebrated at Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside, CA. There will be no public viewing, ceremony, or interment.
