Robert Stuart Rummel, Jr., affectionately known by family as Stuart, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2023, in Anaheim, California, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born on July 24, 1945, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Stuart was 77 years old at the time of his passing. Stuart was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 52 years, Irene Rummel, his cherished daughters Maren Barr and Amy Behen, and his adored granddaughters Julie Barr, Claire Behen, and Adeline Behen. He is also survived by his siblings Maxine Tom, Linda Johnson, Shawn Rummel, Greg Rummel, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he treasured as though they were his own children. Stuart's educational journey led him to study engineering, a field that fascinated him and nurtured his naturally inquisitive mind. However, his academic pursuits were put on hold when he was drafted by the US Army during the Vietnam War. His work ethic and dedication were always evident, and he was well-regarded by all who had the pleasure of working with him. Stuart was a man of many interests and hobbies, all of which reflected his love for life and family. He found great joy in woodworking, a skill he honed over the years and one that showcased his handy nature. He also had a passion for working on cars and was known for his ability to fix just about anything. A lover of the outdoors, Stuart enjoyed skiing and took a memorable 9-day skiing trip with his daughter, Maren. He was also an avid camper, fisher, and hiker, often traveling to National Parks and the Sierra Mountains to immerse himself in nature's beauty. Coaching his daughter Amy's softball teams was a cherished pastime for Stuart. His generous spirit and warm heart made him a favorite among the players and parents alike. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and his actions always spoke louder than his words. Stuart will be remembered as an intelligent, handy, and generous man.
