Marlene Murphy

We are sad to announce the passing of Marlene Joan Murphy (Carnahan) of Jefferson, Iowa. Marlene was born July 30, 1951, and left us on October 24, 2023. She passed away surrounded by loved ones after a battle with lung cancer. The Celebration of Life will take place on November 12th, 2023, at the Guthrie Center Activity Center at 2:00 PM. Marlene Joan Murphy was married to Dennis Dean Murphy, she was preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor Olsen, and father, Dillard Carnahan, and her daughter, Debbie Steadman, and husband Dennis Murphy. Marlene will be remembered as a fun-loving soul with a big, loud personality who was not afraid to take risks in life. She was loved by many and will always be remembered for her loud and distinctly genuine laughter, which brought light into a room and life to a party. We feel that secretly Marlene wanted to become a professional wrestler in life. She was able to fulfill that for a moment when she jumped into a real ring full of fighters where she faced a real chain reaction. Donations will be accepted at the time of our gathering.
