Ruth Florence Bassoff

MONROE TOWNSHIP - RUTH FLORENCE BASSOFF passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 14, 2023. She was 106 years old. Ruth Bassoff, Everyone loved and admired Ruthie! In her 106-year life, she was a role model of a life well-lived, and her spirit was an inspiration to family members, friends and neighbors. Small in stature, she was big-hearted and energetic, cheerfully welcoming everyone, and caring about their well-being. She was a 40-year resident of the Clearbrook community in Monroe Township after spending most of her life in New York City. Her response to people asking what was her secret for her active long life, was "Keep Moving" and she did, working out daily on the treadmill in the Clearbrook clubhouse well into her 90's! She worked with her husband Willy in their grocery store, befriended foreign students when she was secretary to the dean at NYIT, took care of many family members, volunteered in a kindergarten class, and at Princeton hospital, climbed ladders to check on the work of roofers as president of Section 3, and danced!
