Ruthmary Ann Sekaney
Ruthmary Ann Sekaney, of Shawano, died on December 24, 2023 at Aster Assisted Living in Clintonville. She was 84 years old. She was born on December 3, 1939 in Antigo, a daughter of Marland "Blackie" and Virginia (Godleske) Malzahn. She married George Sekaney on September 3, 1960 at Peace Lutheran in Antigo. He preceded her in death on 1992. She was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1957. Ruthmary was employed at the Wausau and River Falls Public Libraries. She also worked at Minnesota Manufacturing Center Research Library. She enjoyed researching family genealogy, reading and old time music. She also played piano and organ and enjoyed gardening. A loving mother, she especially loved spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren. Jim (Carol) Sekaney of Wausau. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins, including special niece, Beth Hoerman and cousins, Lois Mary Fischer and Chuck (Dee) Malzahn. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Laura and Janet; and her only son, Corey at age 4; brothers-in-law, Paul Sekaney, Emil Matuszewski, Sheridan Prange, and Chris Christensen; sisters-in-law, Elaine (Elmer "Mert") Schroepfer, Grace (Hank) Semph, and Mable (Don) Graves. A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, January 3, at the Bradley Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until the Service of Remembrance at 7 p.m. A private burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery, Antigo A special thank you to Aster Assisted Living and Moment's Hospice for their loving care of Ruthmary.
