where he taught chemistry and physics for 32 years. In retirement, he began his political career starting as a Mills County supervisor and ending as mayor of Glenwood, after just being re-elected this past November. Ron enjoyed coaching, gardening, golfing, attending auctions (a lot of auctions), and spending time with friends and family. He was well traveled and enjoyed family vacations tremendously. He was very involved at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, where he was ordained a Deacon. As Deacon he officiated weddings, baptisms, and funerals along with serving at masses. He was a catechist, 4th degree Knight of Columbus, as well as serving wherever else he was needed. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Margaret Kohn; son, Keith Allen Kohn; grandson, Joey Fevold; sister, Marilyn Peck; sister-in-law, Virginia Kohn. Ron is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joanne of Glenwood, IA; son, James Kohn of Kansas City, MO; daughters, Christina Kohn (Ramonte Stephens) of Kansas City, MO, and Terri Fevold (BJ Fevold) of Prairie Village, KS; grandchildren, Cole Fevold and Emily Schneider (Quenton); great-grandchildren, Paul, Rita, and Joan; brothers, Larry Kohn (Linda) and Doug Kohn; nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of many special friends.
