Charles Ray Melancon passed away on January 11, 2024 at the age of 92. Charles was born on January 11, 1932 to Mamie Kuebodeaux and Cyprian Buck Melancon in Crowley, Louisiana.
Charles completed a Chemical Engineering Degree and a Biology Degree at Baylor University. While transferring to the University of Houston Pharmacy School, he was drafted into the Army, and was stationed in Schweinfurt Germany. After returning, completed Pharmacy School and attained a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.
He married Barbara Honeycutt, the love of his life, in June of 1955, where they made their home in Houston, Texas, and raised their 5 children.
He enjoyed water skiing, jogging, and going to the races. He was the son of a Baptist preacher and loved the Lord. He was known for praising the Lord every day.
He is survived by 5 children: Don, Bill (Kim), Susan, Jeff (Caren), and Russ Melancon.
He is preceded in death by: Wife Allison (Stroup) Melancon, his parents Cyprian Buck and Mamie Melancon, siblings - Earl, Hattie Barrios, Dorothy Jackson, Josh, JD, and Martha Tacky.
