Allie Newman Downing, 88. Mr. Downing was born June 26th,1935 in Muhlenburg,Ky.

Started his lifetimes in Cincinnati, OH., California, Miami,Fl.,back to Columbus, OH. Finally retiring 24yrs. ago in Sarasota. Died Sat. Jan.13th 2024 peacefully, with dignity, surrounded by love, at home.

Mr. Downing was an extraordinary man with a beautiful, generous soul. He loved his family, friends, and animals unconditionally. Known by several names, Allie, Al, Uncle Newman, Dad, Papaw, "Old Man". He touched us all with his contagious smile, laughter, generosity, and kindness. A lifelong, diehard St. Louis Cardinal fan. he loved all sports, most of all Horse Racing and Race Horses, owning, training, being in the barns, especially the "Winner's Circle" He lived a fascinating life. Always with a smile on his face, laughing, enjoying life to the fullest. He will be missed beyond measure by many. Rest in Peace "Old Man."

Al is preceded in death by his granddaughter Skylar Paige and 14 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his 2 children daughter Susie Downing Ganley, {John} Sarasota,Fl., Son Timothy Downing, {Barb} Columbus, OH. Grandchildren, Zoe Ganley, Sarasota, Zachary Downing, Columbus, OH., Alan Downing, Columbus,OH., Great Granddaughter Dahlia Paige Downing, Columbus,OH., Nieces and Nephews, many dear friends and many more.
